The much-awaited meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) to approve the schedule of the party president’s election will take place on Monday at Sonia Gandhi’s residence.

“Dates for election of Congress President to be fixed on Monday. If only one nomination is filed it’ll be announced on date of withdrawal of nominations that he is the President since there is no other nomination,” said Congress  leader Janardhan Dwivedi while referring to Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi’s elevation within the party.

The meeting of the CWC, the highest decision-making body of the Congress, is scheduled to take place at 10:30 AM at 10 Janpath, Dwivedi added.

According to sources Rahul Gandhi is expected to be the only candidate in the fray. And the meeting will put an end to speculations about the young Gandhi’s elevation as the party chief.
