M Venkaiah Naidu sworn in as Vice President of India

M Venkaiah Naidu was today sworn in as the 15th vice president of India.

President Ram Nath Kovind administered the oath of office and secrecy to Naidu, 68, at a ceremony in the Durbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhawan.

The event was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Former Vice President Hamid Ansari, Ministers of Union Cabinet and members of Parliament.

The Vice President who is also the Chairman of Rajya Sabha reached Parliament house and offered prayers at Ambedkar’s statue in the premises. Later he assumed charge as the Chairman of Rajya Sabha at the official Chamber of Rajya Sabha Chairman.
