Addressing the inaugural of the smart city project in Jharkhand’s Ranchi, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu said that order, transparency is key to successful smart cities.

Addressing the gathering, Naidu said Jharkhand State is adorned with natural beauty. About 40 percent of the mineral is found in Jharkhand itself.

“The mineral in Jharkhand should be used for public welfare, especially for the people standing last in the line,” he said.

Naidu called on administrators to make an attempt to make every city of the country as a smart city.

“Smart city means beauty, where natives can get all facilities. Electricity, drinking water, education, medical and municipal facilities are available,” the Vice President said.

Vice President reminded people of the role of a common man, natives in building a safe and secure city along worth government.

“Everyone should play a pivotal role in public welfare activities and one should push their city and village towards development,” he said.

He also stressed on the need to maintain peace in the society and said that there is no place of violence in the democracy. The person who does violent acts should never be encouraged.

“The safety of every person is important. For development, peace is essential. In a democracy, the government is run by the people. Public through vote elect their representatives, ” Vice President said.

Vice President also laid the foundation stone to Urban Civic Tower and Jharkhand Urban Planning and Management Institute. The event was attended by Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Murmu and Chief Minister Raghubar Das.
