Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Palestine soon. He will be the first Indian Prime Minister to visit the country, according to Palestinian Ambassador Adnan M. A. Abualhaija, who spoke exclusively to Rajya Sabha TV on Thursday.
While taking part in the RSTV panel discussion ‘The Big Picture’, the Ambassador said that India has been supportive of the Palestinian cause and the two-state solution.
But the envoy did not elaborate on when the visit will take place. According to sources, the visit could take place within the next three months and may be clubbed with a visit to Jordan.
The news comes amid global consternation over the U.S. declaring Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
