30% COVID-19 cases belong to Tablighi Jamaat: Health Ministry

With the numbers of COVID-19 positive rising to 3000, the government on Saturday said that at least 1000 cases spread over nearly 17 states can be traced to the Tablighi Jammat cluster.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare the “rate of rise in COVID-19 cases in India is less than other countries.”

Giving out data, Lav Aggarwal, Joint secretary to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, said 9% Corona positive patients belongs to the age group of 0-9 years, 42% are in the 21-40 age-group, 33% between 41-60 years and 17 % cases above 60 years.

He further stated that the “condition of 58 COVID 19 patients is critical. All these people are in Kerala, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi”.
