Avoid Junk food to boost immunity, says Vice President

As the world faces the COVID-19 pandemic, health experts around the world have often highlighted the importance of building a strong immunity to beat Coronavirus.

Reiterating this principle, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu has called upon all stakeholders- Producers, Vendors, Consumers and Governments to ensure that the food people consume is safe, healthy and nutritious.

He said, ”On this World Food Safety Day, I call upon all stakeholders – Producers, Vendors, Consumers & Governments to ensure that the food we consume is safe, healthy and nutritious.”

In a Facebook post on Sunday M Venkaiah Naidu said, there is also a need to create greater awareness on food-borne diseases.

Mentioning India’s diverse climate and food Vice President said that, ”In India, we have a range of traditional foods, prescribed according to our needs and climatic conditions”.

In these times of COVID-19 pandemic, it is all the more important for people to eat healthy food, boost their immunity & stay healthy” he added.

In these times of COVID-19 pandemic Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu urged all citizens, especially the youth, to avoid junk food and follow a healthy diet. He urged people to exercise the utmost caution as the society seeks to rebound from the disruption caused by the virus.
