Aiming the upcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, the Bharatiya Janata Party is highlighting Modi government’s achievements in Allahabad during its two day National Executive in Allahabad on June 12 and 13.
The two day national executive, starting Sunday will also set the tone for the BJP’s attempt to return to power in Uttar Pradesh after a decade and half. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP’s National President Amit Shah and Union Home Minister are expected to speak at the venue addressing party workers.
Sources say that the National Executive will give party cadres a clear idea on what message should be covey to electorate. The decision to highlight Modi and the government’s achievements is significant as the party is still contemplating on whether to declare a chief ministerial candidate in Uttar Pradesh.
Apart from discussing deteriorating law and order in UP and strategy to target ruling Samajwadi Party and BSP, BJP will adopt a political and an economic resolution, during the national executive agenda.
After the party’s massive victory in Assam and its rise in Kerala, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, Amit Shah is expected to reflect on the upbeat mood when he addresses workers of Uttar Pradesh.
“President will discuss challenges before the party leaders,” said a functionary.
The Prime Minister’s rally on June 13 is expected to set the tone for party cadres. During the national executive party is expected to discuss its organisation specific subjects, upcoming elections in Punjab, Goa, Manipur, but the main focus will centre on Uttar Pradesh where it is likely to launch new slogans for the UP elections.
