All set for Phase 3 of LS polls; 116 constituencies go to polls on April 23

The election authorities are fully geared up for conducting free and fair polls on Tuesday for the third phase of polling for Lok Sabha Elections 2019.

The third phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2019 will be held on April 23, 2019. Campaigning for the third phase of Lok Sabha polls ended on Sunday evening.

116 seats spread across 15 states and Union Territories will go to polls in the third phase.

Single phase elections will take place for all 26 seats in Gujarat, all 20 seats in Kerala, 2 seats in Goa, one seat each in Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.

14 seats each of Maharashtra and Karnataka, 10 seats in Uttar Pradesh, 7 seats in Chhattisgarh, 6 seats in Odisha, 5 seats each in West Bengal and Bihar, 4 seats in Assam, 1 seat in Jammu and Kashmir will go to polls on April 29.

Tripura East Lok Sabha constituency will also vote in the fourth phase. This Lok Sabha seat was slated to go to polls in the second phase but voting was postponed due to law and order situation.

Many prominent names are in the fray in the third phase. All eyes are on BJP chief Amit Shah contesting from Gandhinagar in Gujarat, Congress president Rahul Gandhi from Wayanad, Sambit Patra from Puri Lok Sabha seat in Odisha, Jaya Prada, BJP candidate from from Rampur, BJP’s Varun Gandhi from Pilibhit, Congress party’s Abhijit Mukherjee from Jangipur Lok Sabha seat in West Bengal and SP’s Mulayam Singh Yadav from Mainpuri.

Third phase polling for 42 seats of Odisha Assembly will also take place on 23rd April.
