Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Friday, laid the foundation stone of National Centre for Aging at All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi. The Prime Minister also went to meet former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee who is undergoing treatement at AIIMS.
PM also inaugurated the 555 bed Super Speciality Block in Safdarjung Hospital. PM dedicated 500 bedded New Emergency Block in Safdarjung and 300 bedded Power Grid Vishram Sadan in AIIMS.
PM underscored that government is ensuring easy access of better healthcare to the poor and middle class of the country. He further said that in the last four years the country has given a new direction to public healthcare.
Motorable Tunnel between AIIMS, Ansari Nagar and Trauma Centre has also been inaugurated by the prime minister on Friday, to shorten the distance to reach the trauma centre. This will led the critical patients to be transferred from the hospital to the trauma centre in just five minutes, which earlier took 30 minutes.
Government is focussing on upgrading 58 district hospitals into medical colleges. A healthcare system with better hospitals, more bed, better facilities and excellent doctors is being created for New India.
PM said that National Health Policy has been created to ensure affordable treatment to every person of the nation. Ministry of Rural development, sanitation and drinking water, Ministry of Women and Child Development and Ministry of AYUSH are connected with the vision of better healthcare to every citizen of India.
PM Modi highlighted that the government is working to make nation TB free by 2025. A healthy family and healthy society forms the basis of healthy nation, says PM.
