Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Sunday said that Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik has started a new tradition by holding the press conference at Rajbhawan which clearly shows the weakness of the present SP government in the state.
Slaming Samajwadi Party government she said,”By holding a press conference to highlight work done by him in past six months on January 21, Governor Naik has started a new tradition. Either President or Centre should take notice whether it it good or bad practice. However, it clearly shows that present SP government in the state is weak and helpless,”.
“Whenever any institution is weak, the another tries to press it further,” she said while addressing party workers from Bihar, Uttrakhand, Jharkahand, Karnataka, Maharastra, Tamil Nadu, Telengana, Kerala and West Bengal who gathered to review party’s strategy for 2017 Assembly polls.
BSP is desperately looking to save its national party status as it suffered a major, and possibly the final, jolt as it performed poorly in Delhi where it contested all the 70 seats in the Assembly elections but drew a blank.
Alleging that the people of the country had witnessed both Congress and now BJP governments and they were fed of their misrule, Mayawati said that there was a great expectation of people from BSP and that is why it was need of the hour to strengthen BSP movement.
Mayawati also attacked those who recently left the party saying, “some people, who became MPs, legislators and even got ministerial berths, have left the party and hurt the BSP movement.’Bahujan samaj’ will not spare them.”
Mayawati on the occasion discussed in detail ways and means to strengthen her party ahead of the UP Assembly polls scheduled in 2017.
She will be holding region-wise review tomorrow in the party office.
