The US House of Representatives yesterday approved two articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump. The final charges against Donald Trump are, abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. This action by the Judiciary Committee sets up a historic vote, making him only the third President in the US history to be impeached.

During more than 12 hours of debate in the House Judiciary Committee on Thursday, Republicans sought to position Trump’s actions as reasonable within his authority to advance US anti-corruption policy in Ukraine.

The President is accused of betraying the public trust by withholding 391 million dollars in military aid to pressure Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to announce an investigation of former Vice President and one of his top political rivals, Joe Biden.

Meanwhile, the US Supreme Court yesterday agreed to hear Mr Trump’s appeals in three separate cases to prevent his financial records from being handed over to Democratic-led House of Representatives committees and a New York prosecutor. The records includes tax returns.
