IAF’s Sukhoi fighter aircraft goes missing near China border

A Sukhoi fighter jet of the Indian Air Force went missing near Tezpur in Assam today, IAF sources said.

The Su-30 aircraft was on routine training mission when it lost radar and radio contact approximately 60 km north of Tezpur, they said.

As per publicly available information Indian Air Force has lost at least 6 Sukhoi 30 Aircraft since 2009.

In the past, Indian air force has routinely suffered many crashes involving its aeging Mig 21 figther aircraft due to serviceability issue and human errors but loss of its latest combat aircraft is a cause of concern for the force.
