Swaraj: India’s global presence has risen since PM Modi took over

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, on Monday, addressed India’s Heads of Missions in New Delhi on the last day of a three-day conference. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also attended the conference on the final day.

At the 9th Heads of Mission Conference, Swaraj praised India’s rising global presence.

India’s global profile and prestige has gone up significantly since PM Modi assumed office, said Swaraj in her speech.

PM Modi also addressed the conference where he called for a bigger role to be played India in achieving global peace.

On Sunday, the envoys had deliberated upon the India’s foreign policy priorities, including the role of India’s soft power in achieving its objectives.

The envoys also met President Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan, and Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu at his residence.

The President spoke about how global expectations from India were on the rise. Vice President Naidu called for a bigger role for India in global discourse.

The conference was inaugurated on Saturday by Sushma Swaraj. This year the conference is themed ‘Unprecedented Outreach:Unparalleled Outcomes”.
