Jayalalithaa’s Poes Garden residence is filled with party workers celebrating the victory of their Puratchi Thalaivi’ (Revolutionary Leader).
According to latest the update from Election Commission AIADMK is leading in 130 constituencies leaving her rival alliance at 100 seats.
Addressing media in Chennai , Jayalalithaa thanked people and party workers for putting a full stop to family rule.
The historic win upholds democracy. I promise to make Tamil Nadu the number one state in the country. People have put a full stop to family rule,” said the AIADMK chief.
AIADMK captured 41.3% of the total polls and became the single largest party in the state, While the DMK congress combined got 38% votes.
In a major set back, the rainbow coalition formed under the name of Peoples Welfare Front failed to impress the voters of Tamil Nadu. All the leaders of the alliances parties have lost the battle to AIADMK or DMK. BJP too failed to open account.
Jayalalithaa’s AIADMK has promised free laptops, mobile phones and expansion of the noon-meal scheme to include breakfast in the manifesto. DMK too has promised smartphones for poor families and tablets or laptops with internet connections for students but could not win public trust.
