Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla calls an all-party meeting ahead of Winter session

Ahead of Parliament’s winter session commencing from November 18, leaders of both Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha have convened all-party meetings.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla met all party leaders today. During the meeting, LS Speaker Birla sought the support of political parties to ensure smooth functioning of the House.

Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu has also called a meeting of leaders of different parties in the Upper House on Sunday. An all-party meeting is also convened by the government on Sunday ahead of the session.

About 27 legislations, including Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, will be taken up during the Winter Session.

The session is likely to conclude on December 13.
