MEA Swaraj blasts Pakistan NSA for not acknowledging her letter

Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj has hit out at Pakistani foreign affairs head Sartaj Aziz for not acknowledging her request to grant visa to Kulbhushan Jadhav’s mother- Avantika Jadhav.

The External Affairs Minister used very strong words on twitter on Monday and said that the Pakistani counterpart does not have “the courtesy even to acknowledge” her letter.

Jadhav, 46, was allegedly arrested by Pakistan in the restive Balochistan province last year. He has been sentenced to death by a Pakistani military court on charges of espionage and terrorism.

Sushma also responded on the Pakistani media reports which said India has refused medical visas to people from that country. Swaraj said that it’s Aziz’s fault that Pakistanis in need of urgent medical attention are not able to visit India.

However Sushma assured Pakistani nationals that India will be happy to grant medical visas provided the Pakistan’s foreign office considers their citizens plea
