Celebrating two years of governance at centre, Narendra Modi lead NDA has put up a mega event near India Gate on Saturday to highlight their achievements.
Government titled the event as Vikas Parva and is holding five hour long interactive session with ministers of Modi cabinet explain the steps taken by the government in last two years.
Super Star Amitabh Bachchan hosted a special segment encouraging education of girl child while actor R Madhav moderated the event.
First it was the turn of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to give his report card….Speaking at the venue Jaitley explained the steps taken by the government in last two years to improve the financial condition.
“We are growing at much faster rate compared to the world, but I feel India could do better. It is difficult to maintain growth when rest of the world is faring poorly,” said the Finance Minister.
Jaitley also talked about the government schemes like MUDRA, Jan Dhan, and PAHAL. He also highlighted the government’s efforts to curb the black money and unaccounted wealth. The HSBC scandal finds mention.
“We have launched a massive crackdown on parallel economies,” said Jaitley.
Maneka Gandhi, Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Jagat Prakash Nadda, Raveena Tandon elaborated initiatives taken by Modi government for women and children.
“Mission Indradhanush is a huge programme for immunisation that is helping the children who are usually left out,” says JP Nadda.
Union Ministers Uma Bharati, Chaudhary Birender Singh has spoken about government’s cleanliness and sanitation drive- Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
“Our mission is to end open-defecation completely,” said Minister Birender Singh.

Minority Affairs Minister Najma Heptulla, Minister of State for Finance Jayant Sinha deliberated on the initiatives taken by the Union government to implement the JAM trinity.
“Our social security schemes, coupled with JAM – Jan Dan, Adhere and Mobile – are like a shield for the poor,” said Minister Jay ant Sinhala.
“Besides financial inclusion, there’s a change in the way people think today. People are confident. That’s a bigger victory,” said Minority Affairs Minister Name Heptulla.
The government had formed a panel of ministers, headed by Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu and comprising Union ministers Nitin Gadkari, Piyush Goyal and Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, to supervise preparations for the show.
BJP has also planned to hold over 200 events across the country between May 26 and June 10 to highlight the government’s achievements. During the 15-day long ‘Vikas Parva’, Union Ministers are holding rallies and press conferences in different parts of the country.
