Three soldiers killed in a militant attack in Kupwara

Amid ongoing unrest in the Valley, terrorists on Thursday morning attacked Army Camp at Chokibal in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir. Two militants and three soldiers have been killed the ongoing operation.

According to initial reports, two terrorists have been killed in the ongoing encounter.

Sources said that two jawans including an army captain have been killed when militants carried out a Fidayeen attack on an army camp in Kupwara. The army officer killed was identified as Captain Ayush, official sources said.

A day ago, army official had said that about 150 militants are waiting near the Line of Control (LoC) in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) to sneak into the Valley

Lt Gen J S Sandhu, Commander of Srinagar-based 15 Corps which is responsible for security of the Kashmir valley, had said there would be more militants at the launching pads in PoK in the areas facing Poonch and Rajouri in Jammu province
