Nepal Prime Minister KP Oli will embark his six-day visit to China from Tuesday. Oli’s visit comes at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Li Keqing. This will be the first visit to China by the Prime Minister since he assumed power in February.
During his visit, Oli is scheduled to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang and other senior Chinese leaders in Beijing.
Ahead of his visit, Oli briefed the Nepal Parliament and said that Nepal and China would reach understandings on energy, railways and reconstruction.
During the visit, a host of projects under the Belt and Road Initiative as well as China’s plans for an India-Nepal-China economic corridor are also expected to be discussed.
China is also likely to extend assistance to the Nepal government for post-earthquake reconstruction.
