Six newly elected or re-elected Members of the Rajya Sabha from West Bengal subscribed to the oath on Tuesday.
Of these six members, five members belong to Trinamool Congress Party and one member belongs to the Congress. Five members took oath in Bengali one member took in Nepali.

Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu administered the oath of these members. Vacancies for these seats were necessitated after the terms of previous members expired.
TMC’s Derek O’ Brien, Sukhendu Shekhar Roy and Dola Sen got re-elected to Rajya Sabha.
Manas Ranjan Bhunia and another TMC member Shanta Chhetri also elected to Rajya Sabha for the first time. Senior Congress leader and Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Congress’ P Bhattacharya
Derek O’ Brien introduced TMC’s Rajya Sabha members to Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu, Deputy Chairman PJ Kurien and Leader of the House Arun Jaitley. Another leader Sukhendu Shekhar Roy extended to congratulations to M Venkaiah Naidu, the Vice President of India.
