BJP leader Pema Khandu took oath as the chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh for the second term today.
Swearing-in programme was held at the Dorjee Khandu Convention Centre.
Though Khandu was sworn in as the chief minister for the second term, this is for the first time the BJP formed its elected govt in the frontier state.
BJP has 41 MLAs in the 60-member Assembly, while Congress managed to get only four seats this time.
BJP legislature party elected Khandu as their leader during a meeting on Monday.
Later, Khandu accompanied by legislator and former Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein and state BJP chief and MP Tapir Gao called on State Governor Brig BD Mishra at Raj Bhavan in Itanagar & staked claim to form the next Govt.
