People’s welfare & happiness is supreme for government: PM

Addressing young CEOs at an event organised by NITI Aayog, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that welfare of the people and the happiness of citizens is supreme for the government.

PM-Narendra-ModiInteracting with 200 young entrepreneurs, including Rajiv Bajaj of Bajaj Auto and Avni Biyani of Future Retail, the Prime Minister said, “As industry leaders, think about what more you can do for the poorest of the poor.”

Prime Minister said that development of the county should be a mass movement to achieve targets.

Modi said that every citizen must have a feeling that this country belongs to him & he or she should work for the country.  He also exhorted young entrepreneurs to go cashless by 2022.

He exhorted the corporate to gift khadi coupons during Diwali as it would greatly help the poor.

This gesture on the part of corporates, Modi said, will create an atmosphere that will encourage people to take care of the poor.

The prime minister was addressing CEOs at the ‘Champions of Change – Transforming India through G2B partnership’ initiative organised by the Niti Aayog.

In the past, the prime minister urged Indians to embrace the indigenous fabric khadi through various platforms, including his radio programme Mann Ki Baat. The sale of khadi products jumped 35 per cent in 2016- 17.

The prime minister had held a similar meeting with 212 young entrepreneurs last week as part of the ‘Champions Of Change’ programme organised by Niti Aayog.
