Polling ends in 91 seats in phase 1 of Lok Sabha Elections

Polling ended in the 91 constituencies spread across 18 states and two union territories in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections.

The voter turnout till 5 pm was recorded 69% in Sikkim (1 seat), 60% in Mizoram (1 seat), 78% in Nagaland (1 seat), 78.2% in Manipur (1 seat), 81.8% in Tripura (1 seat), 68% in Assam (5 seats), 81% in West Bengal (2 seats), 70.67% in Andaman & Nicobar Islands (1 seat),  66% in Andhra Pradesh (25 seats), 56% in Chhattisgarh (1 seat),60% in Telangana (17 seats), 57.85% in Uttarakhand (5 seats), 54.49%. in Jammu & Kashmir (2 seats). Final turnout is expected to rise.
Voting also ended in the 175 assembly seats in Andhra Pradesh, 32 in Sikkim and 28 seats in Odisha.
Polling in all the Lok Sabha constituencies of Andhra Pradesh (25), Telangana (17), Uttarakhand (5), Meghalaya (2) and Arunachal Pradesh
(2) besides lone seats in Mizoram, Tripura, Manipur, Nagaland, Sikkim, Andaman and Nicobar, and Lakshadweep was held in the first phase.
Eight seats in Uttar Pradesh, seven in Maharashtra, six in Bihar, five in Assam, four in Odisha, two each in Jammu and Kashmir and West Bengal and one seat in Chhattisgarh also voted on phase 1.
Voting for the 543 Lok Sabha seats is be held in seven phases: April 11, April 18, April 23, April 29, May 6, May 12 and May 19. Counting will be done on May 23.
