President, Vice President and PM Modi pay tribute to Dr Ambedkar on his 63rd Mahaparinirvan Diwas

The Nation is marking the 63rd Mahaparinirvan Diwas of the father of the Constitution DR BR Ambekdar today.

President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan led the nation in paying tributes to Dr Ambedkar. Several other leaders including former PM Manmohan Singh and Rahul Gandhi also paid tributes.

Several programmes are being held today to mark the day. A function to pay floral tributes was organised at Babasaheb’s statue in Parliament House Lawns.

“Paying floral tributes to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on the 63rd Mahaparinirvan Diwas, in New Delhi today. The nation is ever grateful to the architect of the Constitution. His wisdom will continue to guide us at all times,” tweeted the Vice President.

“India bows to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar on Mahaparinirvan Diwas,” said Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Twitter.

Dr. Ambedkar passed away on this day in 1956. The day is
observed as Mahaparinirvan Diwas
