President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid their respects to India’s former President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on his birth anniversary.
The President tweeted paid floral tributes to Dr. S Radhakrishnan and later gave away National Awards to teachers on the occasion of Teacher’s Day.
Dr. S Radhakrishnan, former President and India’s first Vice President, was also a renowned scholar, academician and philosopher. On September 5, his birthday is celebrated as Teacher’s Day in India every year.
Taking to Twitter, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu paid rich tributes to India’s first Vice-President.
“I pay my tributes to Dr S. Radhakrishnan, the second President of India and the first Vice President on his birth anniversary today. He was an eminent teacher, philosopher, scholar, statesman and author. His life, work and legacy will keep inspiring every Indian,” he wrote on Twitter.
The Vice President also lauded the efforts of all teachers for their contribution and service to India.
“Wishing you all a very happy Teachers Day. Today, let us thank all those teachers who have been working tirelessly through the hardship of the pandemic to prevent academic disruption to students. Let us salute their dedication, courage and their selfless service,” Vice President of India M. Venkaiah Naidu tweeted.
Paying tributes to teachers on the Teachers’ Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter and wrote:
“We remain grateful to the hardworking teachers for their contributions towards shaping minds and building our nation. On Teachers Day, we express gratitude to our teachers for their remarkable efforts. We pay tributes to Dr. S. Radhakrishnan on his Jayanti.”
