Massive uproar in the lower house led to the adjournment for a day as Opposition Congress and government allies TDP, AIADMK and Shiv Sena took to the Well of the house soon as the proceedings began on Tuesday.

Speaker Sumitra Mahajan had first adjourned the house till 12 noon but as the pandemonium continued, the house was adjourned till Wednesday.

The Congress, TMC and some other opposition members are agitating against the Rs 12,000 Cr fraud in the Punjab National Bank. Early this morning, Congress MPs led by their party chief Rahul Gandhi staged demonstration at the Gandhi statue in Parliament House complex.

On the other hand, BJP ally TDP is demanding special status for Andhra Pradesh as promised at the time of state’s bifurcation in 2014.

Members of another Andhra based political party YSRCP also took to the Well of the house.

The AIADMK is also agitating on the issue of Cauvery river dispute, demanding the formation of board for settling the dispute.

However, it is not clear why the members of another government ally Shiv Sena raised protest.
