Congress president Rahul Gandhi campaigned in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar district on Friday, where he targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Madhya Pradesh Assembly polls are scheduled to take place on November 28.

The Congress President called demonetisation the biggest scam in the history of independent India. He also alleged that PM Modi favoured a few industrialists, taking away the money from the poor.

“He (Modi) allowed the rich like Nirav Modi, Mehul Choksi, Vijay Mallya to flee the country with your money and made you stand in queues outside banks. Time will prove how Modi had robbed you and gave your money to few rich,” Rahul claimed.

“These days, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speeches don’t have any mention of (eradicating) corruption, a tall promise that he had made before coming to power,” Gandhi added.

Gandhi also accused PM Modi of wrongdoing in the Rafale jet deal.
