Rahul writes to PM, seeks speedy execution of OROP

Opposition Congress Party’s Vice President Rahul Gandhi has on Saturday written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking speedy implementation of One Rank One Pension.

In his letter, the Congress leader requested PM Modi to ensure that soldiers get their due whether it is regarding compensation, disability pension or parity with civil employees.

“….OROP must be implemented in meaningful way to satisfy our ex-servicemen, “ wrote Rahul Gandhi.

The Congress Vice President’s letter comes on a day when Prime Minister is expected to reach an Indo China border village in Uttarakhand to celebrate this Diwali with men posted at border areas.

He also mentioned the 7th pay commission pay outs and asked the Prime Minister to ‘address the anomalies at the earliest.’

Making an attempt to reach out soldiers who are deployed in difficult terrains to protect the country Rahul said As we celebrate Diwali, let us send this message to our soldiers that our gratitude is expressed both in words & indeed.
