The House benefits and shaped by the contribution made by the Members, says Shri Naidu

Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, Hon’ble Chairman of Rajya Sabha on the concluding day of the 253rd Session of Rajya Sabha bade farewell to the retiring Members. Three Rajya Sabha Members namely Shri Vayalar Ravi, Shri K. K. Ragesh and Shri Abdul Wahab representing the State of Kerala will retire on the 21st April, 2021. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Naidu placed on record his appreciation for the valuable contributions and service rendered by them to this august institution and to the society at large.

Referring to the continuous nature of the institution, Shri Naidu said that the institution is made as well as defined by the individuals constituting it. Individuals may come and go but an institution keeps on functioning pulsating with the contributions made by the individuals. This august House is no exception to this basic principle. This House too has been largely shaped by the lasting contributions of the Members who have come, adorned the office and left after playing their part, added Shri Naidu.

Applauding the retiring Members for their valuable contribution, Shri Naidu said that these Members have carried forward the legacy and contributed significantly to the deliberations of this House and the Parliamentary Committees. In the process they have nurtured and strengthened our parliamentary democracy and enhanced the dignity and prestige of this august House, Shri Naidu said.

Wishing the retiring Members – Shri Vayalar Ravi, Shri K. K. Ragesh and Shri Abdul Wahab good health, happiness and many more years of service to the nation, he said that the House will miss their vivacious presence and their unwavering commitment to the issues pertaining to the State of Kerala and also to the national issues of importance
