Ram temple issue BJP's hidden agenda: Sharad Yadav

Claiming Ram Mandir as BJP’s hidden agenda, JD (U) chief Sharad Yadav said that the saffron party wants to use Varanasi as the epicentre to spread communlism in the country.

Varanasi, May 6 (PTI): Attacking Narendra Modi for using Lord Ram’s picture on the stage backdrop at a rally, JD (U) chief Sharad Yadav today charged that Ram Temple issue was BJP’s hidden agenda and the party has chosen Varanasi as the epicentre to spread communalism in the country.

“BJP’s hidden agenda was Ram temple issue and they want to spread communalism in the entire country for which they had chosen Varanasi as its centre to commence,” Yadav told reporters here.

The JD (U) chief is in the temple town to campaign for AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal, who is taking on BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi from here. Yadav said that his party is extending support to Kejriwal in order to save the country from communal forces. Holding various public meetings in the city, he was seen appealing to people to support Kejriwal and not to get fooled by the so called Gujarat development model.

He visited the residence of late environmentalist Veer Bhadra Mishra at Tulsi Ghat here to pay him a floral tribute.
Yadav said that in his political career spanning over 40 years, he had raised the issue of Ganga several times in the Parliament and for implementing measures so that the river may be saved from getting polluted. He emphasised that if steps aren’t taken to protect Ganga, people might face acute water crisis in near future.
