Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday stressed that Mahatma Gandhiji’s idea of Ramrajya is incomplete without the development of villages across India.

Speaking at the inaugural celebrations of Bihar Diwas in Patna, Vice-President Naidu said that it is important to pay special attention to the upliftment of rural India as most of our population lives in villages.

The Vice-President also said that Bihar has a glorious history and that he was extremely impressed with the ideology of Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan.

The event marks completion of 100 years of Champaran Satyagraha. Vice-President Naidu said that Champaran has a special place in history as Satyagraha originated from there.

Naidu also stressed upon freeing the society from all kinds of discrimination and evils like child marriage and dowry.
