Election Commission will take strict action against anyone found giving inflammatory speech during campaigning for the coming by polls in Uttar Pradesh, a senior official said on Saturday.
He was talking to reporters after holding meeting with the district magistrates of Mainpuri and Etawah for holding free and fair polling for the Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat, slated to be held on September 13.
When asked about Samajwadi Party’s complaint against BJP MP Yogi Adityanath, Sinha said so far no evidence has been found against him issuing any inflammatory speech.
The CEO who has issued directives for poll preparations to officials said that for ensuring free and fair polling, the Central forces would be deployed in Mainpuri.
There are altogether 1,587 polling booths in the Mainpuri Lok Sabha seats of which 472 fall in Etawah district.
