Rajya Sabha took up 12 out of 15 listed Starred Questions for oral replies. This is for the second time when so many Starred Questions were taken up by the Rajya Sabha for oral answers. During the last Winter Session, the Rajya Sabha took up all the listed 15 Starred Questions for oral replies on 2 January 2018.

In the Rajya Sabha, the total number of Starred Questions for oral answers listed for a day is 15. The Member in whose name a Starred Question stands is allowed to ask two supplementaries.

Besides, three more members are allowed to ask one supplementary each. Generally, five to six questions are covered each day, leaving remainder questions unanswered orally, though written replies to such questions are also laid on the Table of the House.

The highlight of the day’s proceedings in Rajya Sabha was the Question Hour which went smoothly though there were disruptions preceding it.

Chairman Venkaiah Naidu expressed happiness over the House transacting 12 questions during the Question Hour and complimented the members.
