State has to ensure safety of every citizen: VP Ansari

hamid_ansariOn an eve of the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, Vice President Md. Hamid Ansari strongly observed that the State has to ensure the right to life to every citizen irrespective of faith or creed. Speaking at an event in UP, the Vice President also emphasised on the essence of maintaining unity for the progress of the nation.

“The State has to ensure the Right to Life, enshrined in Article 21 of Indian Constitution, to every citizen of India, irrespective of the citizen’s faith or creed,” VP Md. Hamid Ansari said while addressing a Quami Ekta Sammelan organized in Hardoi city of Uttar Pradesh.

Among several dignitaries, Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik too was present at the event.

“Citizens have a right to demand security and there could be no development till the security of citizens is assured,”

Stressing that the government of the day, be it at the Centre or in the state, has to safeguard the citizens, Vice President Md. Hamid Ansari added that the “citizens have a right to demand security and there could be no development till the security of citizens was assured.”

The Vice President also spoke on how essential it is to maintain amity and harmony at all levels so as to assure the development of our nation.

“Unity among the people of the country is essential for India’s progress and development,” VP Hamid Ansari said adding that a meeting of hearts and minds of the people was essential for India to move ahead.

The Vice President’s remarks also assumes significance in the backdrop of a shocking incident in a village suburb not even 50 kilometres away from the national capital New Delhi, where a 50-years old man was killed by a mob just two days ago over the rumours that his family ate and stored beef.

The incident has caused widespread reactions ranging from condemnation to that of concerns over the rising incidents of intolerance over the personal habits.
