US President Donald Trump, who is on a five-nation Asia tour, has tweeted about US’ relationship with Russia.
President Trump’s tweet on Russia and its President Vladimir Putin came after the two leaders met on the sidelines of the APEC summit in Vietnam.
“When will all the haters and fools out there realize that having a good relationship with Russia is a good thing, not a bad thing. There always playing politics – bad for our country. I want to solve North Korea, Syria, Ukraine, terrorism, and Russia can greatly help!” tweeted the US President lashing out at critics, who are opposed to the US-Russia proximity.
Soon after meeting Putin, Trump had tweeted about his meeting with the Russian President.
“Met with President Putin of Russia who was at #APEC meetings. Good discussions on Syria. Hope for his help to solve, along with China the dangerous North Korea crisis. Progress being made,” Trump said defending the Russian President.
Trump, who was in Vietnam for the APEC summit will reach Philippines for the last leg of his Asia tour.
Trump also tweeted about how Putin denied to him about having meddled with US Presidential polls in 2016.
“He (Putin) said he didn’t meddle. I asked him again,” Trump said.
“I really believe that when he tells me that, he means it,” he added.
Trump’s key former aides are under US investigation for possible collaboration with the Kremlin.
