Seventy-five new cases of the novel Corona Virus and 4 deaths were reported nationwide in the last 24 hours.
Lav Aggarwal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, said, “Most of the new deaths were of patients with co-morbidities like hypertension, heart and diabetes and most were elderly.”
On observing social distancing and lockdown guidelines, Lav Aggarwal said people and doctors could use telemedicine methods to get diagnosis while OPD services are unavailable.
“We have issued national telemedicine guidelines. This facilitates the process wherein doctors sitting in their homes can provide services to the patients. We urge and request citizens to take advantage of it and doctors to utilise this.”
Meanwhile, the Government has ordered PSUs to provide 10,000 ventilators.
Aggarwal told media persons that Bharat Electronics Limited had been requested to buy 30,000 additional ventilators in the next 1-2 months.
