Vice President meets staff of Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu was given the ‘Friend of Tribes’ Card by the Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Limited (TRIFED). The government agency under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, is engaged in the development and marketing of tribal traditional products including handicrafts.

On Friday, TRIFED staff along with its MD Pravir Krishna called on the Vice President to present him the card.

The Vice President tweeted about the meeting.

TRIFED aims to improve the livelihoods of the tribal communities by creating markets and business opportunities for them based on their culture, traditional skills whilst ensuring fair and equitable remuneration. It is engaged in the marketing of a wide range of almost 20,000 tribal handicrafts like metal craft, pottery, paintings, jewellery, textiles in silks, cottons and woolens as well as cane & bamboo items and natural products.

As part of its marketing initiatives, TRIFED has established a chain of 42 unique showrooms called “TRIBES INDIA” located across the country, which provides artisans the platform for marketing and promotion of tribal products.

To promote tribal products, we have made a “Friends of Tribes” group of valued customer of Tribes India Outlets.
