Comoros accorded it’s highest Civillian Honour to Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu (Twitter image)

Comoros accorded it’s highest civilian honour ‘The Order of the Green Crescent’ to Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on Friday. The Vice President is the first to receive the honour from India.

The Order of the Green Crescent’ was confored by from the President of the Union of Comoros,  Azali Assoumani, in Moroni earlier today. The Vice President thanked the host country for the gesture and said that he would accept on behalf of 1.3 billion Indians

“I accept this honour with utmost humility on behalf of 1.3 billion Indians. I am touched by this extraordinary gesture as a symbol of India-Comoros friendship. A common vision unites us. A common ocean joins us. It is an ocean of friendship. It is a vision of growing together,” said the Vice President.
